It is the season for soup. Wy not try out a tasty new recipe with a secret ingredient: beer.
You will need:
- 2 leeks
- 2 carrots
- 2 celery sticks
- 2 tsp garlic
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- ⅓ cup flour
- 2 cups milk,
- 1 ¾ cups chicken broth
- 300ml Pale Ale.
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp mustard
- 4 cups grated strong cheddar
To make:
1. Cook 2 leeks, 2 carrots and 2 celery sticks, 2 tsp garlic and ¼ cup unsalted butter.
2. Reduce heat, cook ⅓ cup flour for 3 mins.
3. Add 2 cups milk, 1 ¾ cups chicken broth, 300ml Pale Ale.
4. Stir in 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp mustard, 4 cups grated strong cheddar, stir until melted.
